In March of 2006, six months after the landfall of Hurricane Katrina, I travelled to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast to photograph. I found it difficult to capture the landscape or the level of destruction I saw by making single images. Instead I made most of the pictures in this series as tryptichs, or groups of three images meant to be viewed together. Later I will post more of the tryptichs from this series on my website.
